Dread in Japan

Sobriety has its advantages!!

Sorry for the delay between posts, but it has been crazy busy for me out here. I have been going on interviews and checking out different employment agencies in Tokyo. After visiting a couple, I noticed a huge difference in the way agencies work here as opposed to Toronto. The agency people honestly work hard to find you a position. These places are great for finding a job if you are looking in a specific industry such as IT. I would definitely recommend submitting your resume to an agency if you are planning on working in Tokyo. The only bad thing that I found while looking through job ads was almost all positions require at least conversational Japanese language skills, even if it is for a foreign company. Most positions require business level Japanese. As my Japanese is still garbage, I didn`t find too many suitable positions. Another note for those planning to work here, you will need to bring your degree or diploma with you. This is very important, unless you just want to teach English.

Another reason for the delay, was I have been working on a new site for Black&Danse Productions. As me and Black do not have the time needed to work on serious productions, we have decided to start a Hip Hop review site. The site should be running shortly. More news on this will be posted as soon as it is running right. On the subject of Hip Hop, I had a little time to myself and made a beat. It was the first beat I have made in at least a year. The surprising part was that I made it without any herbal stimulants. It was a big moment for me. I didn`t think it was possible to create music (for me at least) without the influence of greenery. The result was an okay sounding beat. There may not be people lining up to jump on this track, but I was impressed with how fast I put it together and the quality of it. Check it for yourself below and feel free to hit me up with any comments.

In other recent news, I have been sick for the last few days. As I was home getting better I had the chance to watch the Godfather trilogy. Yes I know, I need a serious late pass for this one. Believe it or not, I have never watched any of the movies. Anyway, here are my opinions on each for the young bucks and those who are also in need of a late pass:

Godfather part I: AMAZING! This movie is beyond dope. After watching this flick I had to download part II and III immediately. This is a definite classic that should be in everybody`s collection. I completely understand why this film is so critically acclaimed.

Godfather part II: Not as hype as the first one, but still dope. This installment was much more dark and the ending was straight depressing. All I have to say is poor Fredo.

Godfather part III: This one straight lost me. The chick playing Michael`s daughter was wack and the dude playing his son didn`t do a much better job. The whole incest thing wasn`t cool either. I was pretty much disappointed with the whole movie, however Andy Garcia`s performance was definitely noteworthy. Not a must see, but if you got time to kill, give it a chance.

After watching the trilogy, I started thinking about how so many Hip Hop artists use the names of the gangstas from this film and other gangsta films. I really don`t understand it. None of the characters had any respect for black people (or non white people). Why name yourself after them. I understand using their business model, but using their names is wack to me. Just my opinion.

Updates: I know the image gallery was supposed to be updated, but I like I said, I have been busy and sick. I am currently in the process of updating the gallery, links page, and the work in Japan page. Sorry for the delay. I promise you won`t be disappointed. PEACE.
