It is cold as hell right now. I don`t know what is going on with Tokyo weather right now, but it is seriously cold (still not as cold as Toronto though). Even though the weather is not that spectacular, I still managed to get out and visit some new places over the weekend. This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting IKEA Japan in Funabashi. This was a serious journey from my area in Tokyo, but it was interesting. The place was huge and packed with families shopping for home furnishings. Everything was the same as the IKEA`s at home with a few subtle differences like the funky colored chop sticks available. The prices were reasonable and similar to prices in North America.
Visiting IKEA was cool, but the big story was the mall beside it. The mall is called Lalaport and it is HUGE. I have never in my entire life seen a mall this big. The amount of stores there were unbelievable. I can`t even remember how many floors there were. A big difference between this mall and malls at home was how the stores are laid out. Navigating through the mall is a serious task. The stores aren`t lined up one after another in a row. It is more of an open concept with stores occupying different sections with no walls in between them. This place needs more then one visit to see all that it has to offer. Till next time…. PEACE.

Listen…if you are going to say you went shopping don’t just give us readers a taste. Great Ikea Japan. I’m interested in this mega mall…Where are the pictures of the mall?! What did you buy?! What kind of stores occupy the mall?

I didn`t even know about the mall until I got to the IKEA and saw the signs. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the mall, it was dark and cold so I didn`t take any photos. I also wasn`t their for long, so I only went into certain areas of the mall and I didn`t buy anything. Only stopped for some food and a smoke. They had every kind of store there though. You could buy almost anything in that place. I will get you more details and some photos the next time I go.
