It is official, I will not be home to enjoy the glorious cold and snowy weather this year. I successfully renewed my visa for another 6 months this week and I am looking forward to my first winter without snow. Getting the renewal was extremely easy although if I try to renew again it may not be so simple. The immigration rules here are very strict, they seriously don`t want foreigners here too long. If my working holiday visa expires, I only have a couple options. Option A: Get married. Option B: Get a job with a company that is willing to sponsor. With option B, you also have to show immigration an original copy of your diploma or degree. Sadly, it looks like the dread will be back for summer.

Reflecting on the past 6 months, everything has been mad cool, but I am very disappointed with the amount of Japanese I have learned. I still don`t understand a damn thing! You seriously do not need to speak Japanese to survive here, but there are so much more things available to you if you do. Employment and business opportunities are everywhere, but with basic to no Japanese, your options are severely limited. My new years resolution is definitely to start learning and get up to at least a basic level. PEACE.
