Your friendly neighbourhood drunkard is back!!!!! I apologize for the delay people, but I had to move my blog from one server to another and the new server wasn`t quite ready. Everything is running smooth thanks to my partner at NSS Media and his bro. Since I am back online, it is time to celebrate with some drinks (not that I needed a reason to get drinks) which brings me to today`s topic: Alcoholism.
One thing that I truly admire about Tokyo people is that they work hard and play even harder. It is not uncommon to see intoxicated business men riding the train or staggering down the street at night. Not just Friday nights either, people are drinking here any and every night the week. Beer seems to be the favourite out here with Shōchū and Sake close behind. All of these drinks can be bought anywhere. Dollar stores, grocery stores and the neighbourhood 7/11 sell liquor 24/7. You can even buy king cans of beer from vending machines.
And what goes with drinking? Smoking of course! Tokyo is a very smoke friendly city (although this is changing slowly). You can smoke at almost any restaurant, bar, or cafe. It was so refreshing to see ashtrays and have the ability to light up in McDonald`s after a greasy meal. The only place you cannot smoke is on the street. The streets are way too crowded so they made designated smoking spots in public areas. Like alcohol, you can get cigarettes anywhere, anytime including vending machines. The best thing about them is the price. 300 yen ( approx. $3 CAD) can get you a 20 pack (no 25 packs here…) and the price is the same everywhere unlike Toronto where the price depends on where you get them from.
Anyways, I am off to start the celebration. PEACE.

So you’re gettin rowdy on the other side of the planet! Do they play tune in Tokyo over there? Or is it like tune in Toronto or something?

I don`t play any music here, but I am working with some artists. The music scene here is so amazing! Japanese people are really open to all types of tunes. As for the smokes, my favorite is Seven Stars, but it is too strong so I started smoking Mild Seven. They have all the American brands here like Marlboro, Lucky Strike, Camel, and Kool, but I stay away from them and smoke the local. Cheaper and smoother.
