Alright, I have been seeing this dude on tv here regularly for awhile and I had to share. This young black youth who is 1 quarter Japanese and raised in the states is blowing up big time. He ain`t rappin or singing R&B, he`s singing 演歌 (enka). He goes by the name “Jero” and is for real. This guy knows his sh!t too, he even beat this Japanese cat in a enka quiz held by a Tokyo radio station. It was sick! They played a bag of enka tunes for two seconds and this guy could name the tune and artist for each one. Insane! Check his video below…..

Yeah, youtube has got a bunch of videos of him from various tv shows and his official video. He seriously tripped me out the first time I seen him. It is not common for an enka tune to make it into the top ten music lists out here, but he is doing it. I think he made it to number 6 on the charts.

They got ghetto’s in Japan? Which part of society lives there? Are they easily identifiable by the rest of the country? I mean would they look at them and instantly say those are the people from Scarborough, or those are the black people? Is it that kind of thing? Do they really have the bomb icky? Or is the sign false advertising?

Ok,… the Jero dude is doing traditional Japanese music and yes he is good. Nuff people are jealous because this type of music is rarely in the top 10 charts, but because he is a black American it is making noise. Good for him….
Regarding the ghetto pics from the gallery…. it is not the ghetto we know. It is actually very cheap housing for company employees who live outside of Tokyo. Nothing dangerous about the neighbourhood, it just looks ghetto as hell and no there is no bomb sticky icky over there….I asked.

This is great man…just goes to show the world is a global community, it doesn’t matter the details of WHAT you are, just who you are and what you do.
Cool thing is he seems to really love the music he’s doing, that’s awesome. People should play whatever they want.
Forget the labels people assign you, just do your own thing!

I agree and this dude is no joke. He seriously loves the music as he spent alot of time with his Japanese grandmother who introduced it to him.
