Another weekend of partying and I found another wicked reggae club. The club`s name is OPEN and it is in Shinjuku (my favorite area). After watching Chelsea beat Man U. at the bar, my crew decided to keep drinking (as usual) and we ended up finding this gem. The club played nothing but foundation reggae all night. 1000 Yen got us in the place and a drink. The place was off the hook with a nice size crowd that included a good amount of ladies. I will definitely be going back to this place again soon. Sorry I don`t have any pics from the event, but I didn`t even know the place existed. I originally just wanted to watch the game, but ended up finding this joint. Yet another reason why I love Tokyo, there are so many hidden spots were you can chill and listen to good music. I will post the website address for this spot as soon as I find it. Till then PEACE.
Upcoming posts: my Japan TV review, immigration issues, and video game wars.
Also, in the very near future, I will be updating the gallery with some pics from D`s birthday bash and my top 5 celebrity ladies!

eh don`t get rude with me battyhole! I only carry the essentials, money, keys, cell and ID. I wouldn`t even carry the ID, but it is mandatory for all foreigners.

True…. you know, I was going to grab one, but I was disappointed at the selection. I was looking for a credit card sized one and couldn`t find it. I found a Fuji one that was pretty small and then I met an American chick with a better one. I asked her where she got it and she said the states. To hell with buying electronics out here. Electronics here are definitely not what you would expect.

I would really like to get a better idea of what is so hype about Japan! All you ever really see of them is the totally outrageous stuff or the perverted stuff. Is that just representative of a small portion of there society or is it that form of humour indicative of the entire culture? Further to that, what sort of opportunities are there for foreigner’s. I would also like to know what the social implications are for people of colour? I know that there must be a fair degree of marginalization due to the fact that you would be out numbered, but is the attitude of the Japanese people one which would cause you to feel alienated or perhaps self conscious?

Further to my questions in the previous posting, i think that what you have is a invaluable opportunity to expose Japan to the rest of us. I would almost in a sense like to be able to experience Japan vicariously through you! Unless you feel that may be too invasive to your own experience?

Straight up, Japan is like any other major city. Some will like it, some won`t. I love it because I am a chain smoking alcoholic pervert who doesn`t like snow and cold weather. With that being said, this city is perfect for me.
Regarding work opportunities, check my work section (which will be updated shortly with new info).
In a future post, I will get more in-depth about racism and the attitudes towards foreigners. As a black person, I can honestly say it isn`t that bad, but I will elaborate later.
About the weird sh!t, I really don`t see it. I am sure it is here, but I am not really looking for it and that`s exactly what you have to do to find it. The weirdest place I have personally been to is a maid cafe and it is not that weird, just goofy. I will write about that soon too.
Please note, I am only writing about my experiences in Tokyo because this is where I spend most of my time. I cannot comment on all of the cities in Japan which may offer different attitudes and experiences. Also remember, Tokyo is an international city with alot of foreigners and tourists. The people here are not bugged out or surprised by seeing non-Japanese people at all.

That would be the club. Thanks for posting the link. I haven’t updated the site in awhile due to the fact that I am no longer in Japan, but I will definitely being checking this club when I come back to visit in November 09.

Not sure if the club is still open as I haven’t been in Japan since January. There are nuff reggae clubs out there though, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding spots once you get there.
