After an excruciatingly long flight with a somewhat shaky landing, I am happy to be back in Tokyo. With so many things to do and see, not sure what to do first. The first night was a washout due to inclement weather and severe jet lag, but I am up and ready to hit this town like no other. First things first, gotta reconnect with all the old heads. Time to get up and leave my very nice, but small hotel room to get some food (bloody starving right now!!), then it is off to find the excitement. Wish me luck as I look for some north american style breakfast place. I don`t remember where I used to go, so this will be a challenge. If worst comes to worst, it`ll be a 7/11 breakfast, but lets hope for the best. I am out see y`all tomorrow.

So the other night I was short on funds and tired as hell so I decided to take a trip to the local video store. There is no Blockbuster here, but if you are looking for a DVD rental, you can check the local Tsutaya. It`s basically the same, but they got an adult corner. Too lazy to walk to Tsutaya, I ended up a the local shop which had a decent selection of local and foreign movies. I had to get a card to rent movies but it wasn`t too difficult. The trip turned out to be more interesting than I had originally thought. The trippy part was checking this one section that had different videos of girls running around do dumb sh!t in different outfits from bikinis to schoolgirl uniforms. Nothing too filthy, no nudity, but the trippy part was the age range. You can get these videos with girls from TEN years old (yes 10) and up…..Disgusting!!!! On the topic of disgusting, the adult corner was especially filthy (not that I have a problem with that!). They had everything from bondage to piss flicks. Unfortunately , I didn`t grab anything from the room behind the curtain, but I did get Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which was wicked (and yes I know I need a serious late pass).

Updates: Work page has more info!!! PEACE

I know it`s been awhile since I last posted, but I didn`t give up, I just have been crazy busy. I was inspired to write after getting harassed questioned by the police for the 4th time since arriving in Japan (which isn`t too bad compared to North America). As some might know, foreigners must carry ID (passport or gaijin card) at all times. Cops here commonly ask foreigners for their information, as overstaying a visa is probably the most common crime. Honestly, the cops aren`t so bad here, they just check the ID and bounce, no searches and no big questioning, but they look real surprised when the read Canada though.

Movin on, big up my man D for stopping by on his asian trip. We ending up hitting the infamous Kabuki-cho and visiting the whore houses and massage parlours. Kabuki-cho is Tokyo`s red light district and I never truly checked out the place until D`s visit. I originally thought is was just a hostess club area, but hell no. You can full service from these hoes for 20000 yen ($200). We didn`t go all out, but I must say I was impressed with the selection. You can choose from Chinese, Thai, Filipino, and even Brazilian…not bad.

Due to the wild night in Kabuki-cho (got drunk and started talking shit to some Yakuza dudes, luckily they had pity on my drunk self. NOTE: I strongly advise against such behaviour,…anyways), I ended up coming home drunk at 6am and waking up late for the movie shoot. I arrived only to find that I was replaced,……..THANK GOD! This movie was beyond low budget. The director was everything in the production including, acting as the main character, grip, sound technician, FX coordinator….it was ridiculous. We all just laughed during the production as he did the whole movie with his fly undone… what a goof. After talking with some other foreigners here, I found out that acting is actually a viable alternative to teaching if you don`t speak Japanese. I am going to try and get some links and post them.

Talking about teaching……….I QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a new job working for a small IT company so I have finally ended my career as a English instructor. I was actually excited about teaching at first, but now that I have experienced it full on……….. All I can say is ..never again. I still do private lessons, but my clientele are wicked and make my job easy. You really couldn`t ask for better students. Unless you really like teaching or just need some part time money, stay away from the English schools. Next post will be about an English school that is always hiring……PEACE.

Ok maybe the title is a bit of a stretch, but no joke, the dread will be featured in a Japanese movie. The other day I answered an advertisement for foreigners to be extras in a film production. I ended up being called for an interview and met the director. The director thought I would be perfect for one of the roles in his upcoming movie and asked me do some lines from the script. One week later, I get a call from the dude telling me he wants me for the part.

For the movie, I will be playing a New Yorker who came to Japan and started robbing banks. I don`t have all the details yet, but I will keep everyone posted. Supposedly, my name will be featured in the advertisement for the flick, so as soon as I get the advertisement I will post the picture. Shooting starts in a couple of weeks so I will bring my camera (for once) and try to get as much photos as I can. Till then…..

Another weekend of partying and I found another wicked reggae club. The club`s name is OPEN and it is in Shinjuku (my favorite area). After watching Chelsea beat Man U. at the bar, my crew decided to keep drinking (as usual) and we ended up finding this gem. The club played nothing but foundation reggae all night. 1000 Yen got us in the place and a drink. The place was off the hook with a nice size crowd that included a good amount of ladies. I will definitely be going back to this place again soon. Sorry I don`t have any pics from the event, but I didn`t even know the place existed. I originally just wanted to watch the game, but ended up finding this joint. Yet another reason why I love Tokyo, there are so many hidden spots were you can chill and listen to good music. I will post the website address for this spot as soon as I find it. Till then PEACE.

Upcoming posts: my Japan TV review, immigration issues, and video game wars.

Also, in the very near future, I will be updating the gallery with some pics from D`s birthday bash and my top 5 celebrity ladies!

The people I am going to mention are born in Japan, but are mixed, blowing up in the J-POP scene. First is a beautiful young lady named Crystal Kay. I am not sure why she isn`t pursuing a career in the states as her English is native level, she can sing and she is banging! Check out the pic and the video link below.

The next one is new to the scene, but she is also doing big things. Her name is Thelma Aoyama. I am not sure if she would have the same appeal over in the states, but she definitely deserves a big up. Check out the link to the live performance below.

NO.1 Tune

On the topic of music, I have to say I have been less than thrilled with the Hip Hop that has been coming out whether it be underground or commercial, but I have heard a few tracks that are getting me excited again. This track might not make Prodigy`s next album due to sample clearance issues, but it is banging. Love or hate G-unit, you cannot front on this track.

This is the long awaited and much anticipated post about Japanese fashion style…well Tokyo style at least.

For the men, the are two main styles. First is business which is the most common. As most jobs here have a formal dress code, the trains and streets are filled with suits and ties. They have more of a Euro style sense out here so the suits are bit tighter than North America. It is seriously difficult for me to find dress clothes (or any clothes for that matter) here because I am not with that tight up style at all. The other style is of course casual. When it comes to casual dress. The dudes here seem to dress real simple with no-name tight jeans and tight t-shirts. There are a small percentage of guys that are rocking hiphop, skater, or punk rock styles. Note about hip hop style here: Most clothes are imported from the states and are EXPENSIVE as hell. Needless to say, I have done very little clothes shopping here. As for the funniest style I have seen would have to be the host style, which is some serious tight tight tight dress clothes with some pointy dress shoes. What makes it even more funny is the fact that they rock some serious Final Fantasy hairdos. I am still trying to get a group picture of them hanging out in Kabuki cho. Words alone cannot express this style.

Finally the ladies,…. all I can say is WOW! These girls know how to dress! Whether they are going to work or out to have a few drinks they are dressed up PROPER. Over here, ladies dress a lot more feminine then their North American counterparts without a doubt. I talked to some other foreigners from Europe and they all agree that North American women dress poorly and man-ish compared to the rest of the world. On a packed train, I can count the number of women rocking running shoes and jeans on one hand. If they are going to rock jeans, the jeans are tight as hell and they got some heels with them. Most are rocking skirts or shorts with stockings and heels or real dressy flat shoes. The style here is classy sassy and can get skanky depending on which part of town you are in. Also, when it comes to clothes, name brands are big as nobody is rocking no no-name or fake bullsh!t. The pic above is a good example of the regular style for this time of year. I wish I could shoot more pics to illustrate my point, but I don`t want to look like the pervert I am. Anyways, I am out…..PEACE.

UPDATES: I put some more pics in the gallery, enjoy.

This weekend I got a chance to visit a Japanese theme park named Fujikyu. Straight goods, I am not a big amusement park fan, but this place was alright. They had some rides that were just deadly, namely Eejanaika with seats that did 360`s and Fujiyama billed as the “King of Coasters” that went up over 70 meters and then took a nose dive straight down. The lineups were killer for the big rides with wait times in excess of 2 hours. They also had haunted houses and game centers if rides aren`t your thing. You really need a whole day to explore the entire park, but if your a fan of these places, you will truly enjoy the experience. Check out some pics below.
